15 Facts About Julia, Your Local Tucson Realtor
Hi there! If you’re interested in getting to know the realtor behind buyselltucsonhomes.com, check out these 15 facts about me:
I’m a Tucson High Badger, Arizona Wildcat, and USC Trojan. Although I attended USC for graduate school, my alliance will always be with the U of A!
I studied film and television production in undergrad and cinema and media studies in graduate school. Since high school I felt drawn to the creativity of the entertainment industry, but after a few years, my interests began to draw me in a different direction. Although I’m not working in film and TV anymore, I’m grateful for all of the lessons both school, and the industry, taught me.
I’ve been a house nerd for most of my life. Beginning in elementary school, I’d beg my mom to take me to open houses for fun, checked out issues of Architectural Digest from the library, and read the homes for sale section of the Sunday paper every week.
I love all animals, but dogs have a special place in my heart. I consider my two rescues, Joni & Murphy, to be my family.
I lived in Los Angeles for most of the last decade and although I love living back in Tucson, I do still miss LA. It’s steeped in diverse cultures, art, entertainment, amazing food, and truly interesting and exciting people and opportunities.
Iceland, Mexico City, and Big Sur are some of my favorite places I’ve visited. There are so many more countries and U.S. cities I’d love to travel to, but just a few include New Orleans, Japan, Croatia, New Zealand, and The Netherlands.
Cold brew with a dash of soy milk is my go-to coffee order. I used to only drink my coffee hot and black, but people change!
I think Tucson’s sunsets are some of the mots beautiful on earth. These skies are part of what brought me back to Arizona.
Spanish Colonial and Midcentury Modern are my two favorite architectural styles, and luckily you can find them both all over Tucson.
One of the coolest internships I’ve ever had was working as a script reader and receptionist for Ed Helms at his production company. I’ve also walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival and worked as a PA on an indie film shot in Tucson, thanks to other internships.
I love decorating homes with thrifted and antique items, not only because it’s more sustainable and better for the environment, but it’s also more affordable, fun, and the items are typically better made than new furniture. It’s also so wonderful when every piece in your home has a unique story and origin.
The list of TV shows I love is long, but some of my favorites are Twin Peaks, Succession, Fleabag, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I’m not even all the way through Curb yet, but it’s so good that I have to include it.
Some of my favorite movies include Raging Bull, Wet Hot American Summer, and 8 1/2. I love absurdist comedies and dark, existential dramas or “dramedies.” I’m also very into a wide range of documentaries.
Spending time outdoors is what makes me feel most at ease. Taking a walk with my dogs or going on a hike with friends or family is truly wonderful.
Because I was born and raised in Tucson, I have a lot of opinions about this town and what makes it great. A few of the places I love to frequent are The Loft Cinema, the shops at Broadway Village, Pop Cycle, the MSA Annex, Bookman’s, Sabino Canyon, and the 3rd St. bike path.
