Tucson’s Casita Model Plan Design Competition

Big news in Tucson housing!

Votes are now open for the city's Casita Model Plan Design Competition, in which community members can vote to pick their favorite ADU designs. 10 designs will be selected and added to the city's library of pre-approved plans, making the planning and build process much faster and more affordable.

This move further promotes urban infill and the diversification of housing options for Tucsonans, which is increasingly important as our city continues to expand and become less affordable for renters and homebuyers. Casitas are a great option for families with aging parents or young-adult children or as an option to rent to a community member in order to offset your mortgage.
