Tucson’s World Famous Gem and Mineral Show

Every February, over 65,000 visitors from across the globe come to Tucson to buy, sell, and trade gems, minerals, and fossils at the world-famous Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. Considered the largest and most prestigious gem show of its kind, it’s a must-see event for those outside of the gem business too! This year marks the 68th show, which started gaining its international prominence in the 1970s.

Although some tents and exhibits are private, most of the shows are free and open to the public. The largest, this year titled “SILICA - Agates and Opals and Quartz, Oh My!,” is hosted by the Tucson Gem and Mineral Society at the convention center from 2/9 - 2/12, but there are over 40 other shows across town, some of which have already gotten started. From affordable jewelry and gems, to museum-like exhibits and $100,000+ crystals, there’s nearly something for everyone to see and enjoy.

If you’re new to Tucson or just visiting, consider stopping at a tent or two. Most exhibits offer something special for spectators and displays suited for children of all ages.

A number of shows are located in downtown, but you can find dozens more elsewhere. Check out this guide for more information on all of the shows, and find parking and transportation, FAQs, and more at VisitTucson.com.
