The Loop: Tucson’s 131 Miles of Car Free Biking and Walking

Last week I shared an Instagram reel that quickly became my best performing post on the platform. Most of my content is planned, but this video was completely last minute when I decided to take a walk on The Loop to grab coffee. You can watch the video here or at the bottom of this post.

The Loop, which is a car-free path circling the city and spanning over 131 miles, is Tucson’s pinnacle of biking infrastructure. I live close to the loop and I’ve been spending as much time there as possible before our harsh summer weather hits. Although not all sections of the loop are as walker-friendly, between 1st and Alvernon there are a number of destinations — including a beer house, coffee shops, parks, a stellar weekly farmer’s market, and more — that make it practical and fun.

Cyclists flock to The Loop from all over the city (and country) but you don’t need to be an avid biker to take advantage of this outdoor space. From folks walking their dogs, to runners and casual bike riders, there’s room for everyone on The Loop, which was named America’s best bike path by USA Today. If you enjoy being active and spending time outdoors, living nearby is something I would highly recommend. To learn more about this path and the things you can find along it, head here.

And if you’re interested in buying a home, condo, our townhouse near The Loop, contact me.
