What Brought Me Back to Tucson

I was born and raised in Tucson, and like many of my friends who moved away in their twenties, I was drawn back to this charming, quirky city to set down roots again.

Of course having dear friends and family here solidified my decision to return, but there was far more to it than that. Tucson has many of the qualities of a larger city — a stellar restaurant scene, gorgeous scenery, and a great university — but it still somehow maintains the charm of a small place.

Summer days may be scorching hot, but the energy of the monsoon rain season makes the heat worth it. Cool winters, beautiful mountains and wildlife, and some of the most stunning sunsets in the world are just a few of the reasons I love living here.

I also appreciate how down to earth Tucsonans are. Families and retirees from all walks of life call this city home, including artists, professors, outdoor enthusiasts, and “snowbirds” taking advantage of our beautiful winter season. It’s a melting pot scattered with murals, unique architecture, James Beard award-winning restaurants, and over 100-miles of trails for cyclists.

There’s something for everyone here — so if you’re thinking of calling Tucson your new home, come ready to explore!
